  A highly passaged vaccine strain, derived from the original Aujeszky strain.
  Isolated in Hungary by Bartha, A. Magy. Allatorv. Lapja. 1961; 16:42-45.
• Strain Becker
  A virulent field isolate from dog, with extensive laboratory passage.
  Isolated at Iowa State University (USA) by Platt KB et al. Arch Virol. 1979; 60(1):13-23.
• Strain Kaplan
  A virulent strain with extensive laboratory passage, originally obtained from R.F. Haff and thus potentially of Aujesky (Hungarian) strain origin.
  Described in USA by Kaplan, AS and Vatter, AE. Virol. 1959; 7(4):394-407.
• Mosaic NC_006151
  
  The original PRV genome used data from six strains; ~80% strain Kaplan and the rest from Becker, NIA-3, TNL, Rice, and In-Fh.
  Described by Klupp et al. J Virol. 2004; 78(1):424-40.
